ESE GAM'S APPOINTMENT OF OGHENESIVBE INTO UPU: HEIGHT OF GOV OBOREVWORI'S DISRESPECT FOR URHOBO
We have stressed before now that UPU leadership since the President Generalship of Olorogun Moses Taiga, inherited by incumbent Ese Gam, has become an image laundering arm of the Delta state ruling PDP and the governor in power.
It is open secret every member of the UPU EXCO is a card carrying member of the PDP and work only for the interest of the PDP and the state governor.
While such drift of the UPU into extreme partisanship is bad enough, Ese Gam's appointment of Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, a serving Director General, Delta State Orientation Bureau, is the height of the Governor and Gam's intentional desecration of the UPU.
It is common knowledge that the governor has UPU in his pocket, but to drive the show of force over the body to the pettiness of planting his political appointee into the UPU EXCO demonstrates again the level of disrespect the Governor has for the UPU and Urhobo nation.
Ese Gams unrestrained yielding of the UPU to the Governor's manipulations further shows the PG's mockery for his office and the Union as a unifying umbrella for entire Urhobo nation, a spit on the UPU that took great efforts of Omorohwovo Okoro, Thomas Erukeme and Mukoro Mowoe to found and then taken to greater heights by J.O Okpodu, Patrick Kesiena Tabiowo, Jereton Mariere, Jabin Asiditor Obahor, Thompson 'TEA' Salubi, Frederick .O. Esiri and others.
The appointment of a garrulous Oberevwori's Aide to double as Spokesman to Ese Gam UPU is the script of Oborevwori and it is absolutely unnecessary. He can hijack UPU against political opponents for all I care but to do it openly is so petty, so reprehensible.
Such is not how to stage show of force, at all.
