About

NDPC, with its Secretariat Office located at No. 28 Opi Street, Ugboroke Layout, Effurun-Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, is a grass-root based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that is passionately committed to: fostering, promoting, propagating and projecting ‘Sustainable Peace’, Law & Order, Equity, Social Justice in Nigeria, particularly the ‘infamous’ Niger Delta region in Nigeria. This includes our advocacy on ‘Good-Governance’, fight against corruption, kidnapping and “prevention” of other criminal tendencies in the Nigerian Society, all of which are a challenge to sustainable peace, Democracy and national development.

NDPC with its strong organizational structure and staff make-up has over the years, consolidated and established a “strong network” base with local communities in Delta State and within the Niger Delta region. This has not only given us the leverage to become familiar with the nooks and crannies of the region with its complexities, it has also placed us in a more advantageous position to address whatever issues that may arise within and between communities and International Oil Companies (IOCs) and their contractors; the Local, State and Federal Governments as well.

Over the years, NDPC proactive integrity-driven advocacy and activities have been recognized and acknowledged by international outlets/organizations like: International Court of Justice (ICT), International Monetary Fund (IMF), ARD Studio Nairobi, Kenya, The British Government under Gordon Brown, The Vatican under Pope John Paul II etc. In 2009, NDPC was invited to participate and contribute to the “Pre-conference Consultation for the African (CSOs) on Peace and State Building in Africa”, organized by the Governance and Public Administration Division (GPAD) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). Although we could not attend because of the impromptu nature of the invitation, it is recognition of our positive advocacy.

In Nigeria, NDPC has also been recognized by the Federal and State Government, the National Assembly, the Nigerian Judiciary, and the Nigerian Security Operatives like the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Joint (Military) Task Force (JTF) Sector Commander, etc. Several of NDPC articles/write-ups on subjects relating to issues we are advocating for have also been published on-line and recognized tabloids like The Guardian Newspaper (Nigeria), The Vanguard Newspaper (Nigeria), Sahara Reports  (New York), The Pointer (Nigeria), etc.
