ZIK GBEMRE CASTIGATES IBORI FOR VISITING TOMPOLO

February 4, 2022 | News

Across the horizon, the same clan of insensitive and selfish political desperadoes ganged up since the era of Thief James Ibori, whose only occupation is to sustain the PDP hegemony at all cost to sit over and personalize Delta's commonwealth to the deprivation of the majority are still ones raising the loudest voices over 2023.

THAT IBORI SHAMELESS VISIT TO TOMPOLO

Towards another transition year, the commentaries popping up are indeed shameful and sad over the unfolding dramas gaining prominence in the struggle for who succeeds Governor Ifeanyi Okowa whose eight years of shambolic administration of greed, tribalism and gross mediocrity is running out.

It is indeed sad that a shameless Ibori, who should be hiding his face in shame, confined to the comfort of his safe loots aside in Oghara and Lagos, aside the humongous sums he trafficked overseas would in 2022 navigate the creeks of Delta to pose in some timid photoshoot with Tompolo, Gbaramatu tyrant and 'violent monger', in the name of consulting of building unity for the coming elections.

Ibori, in 2022, by his open romance with Tompolo has already sent the signal that Delta 2023, just as the years before is not going to be about genuine campaigns of substance and transparent votes, but by hook and crook, the registered electorates are not a factor.

Nigeria is indeed a fantastically corrupt nation as well observed by David Cameron of Great Britain. With characters like Ibori, it is hard to fault the former UK Prime Minister.

By Ibori's yardstick, Tompolo is a Messiah, even of equal status as Nelson Mandela of South Africa and Mahatma Gandhi of India. A shabby Ibori goes to Opozora to glorify a deviant who has institutionalized creek violence in Delta waterways.

He calls him (Tompolo) a peacemaker, a force of reckoning in the politics and development of Delta, not for being informed or having any clear thought on uplifting the state, but being able to deploy fear among his Gbaramatu folks to seize the electoral process and write miracle results from the sparse waterways hamlets.

It is interesting that in the last election,  what goes around comes, Ibori's cousin and successor, was on the receiving end on how written miracle results from Ijaw and Itsekiri hamlets in Warri South West.

In the elections that gave him two terms and Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, ably aided by Ibori and the Tompolos, won on the miracle results from Warri South-West and Warri North creek hamlets.

A situation where votes from a few clusters of waterway hamlets would outnumber the entire votes of the majority Urhobos upland. How many are the Ijaws or Itsekiris, compared to Urhobos of Delta Central? Even the majority of the Ijaws don't live in their creek hamlets. The majority of Ijaws live in Urhobo, in Effurun, Ughelli, Enerhen, Sapele, Orerokpe, Otokutu, Orhuwhorun, Effurun, Ujevwu, Ovwian, Ekpan, Egbo-Uhurie, Usiefrun, Opete, Okpaka, Ugboroke, Ugborikoko, Okuokoko, Osubi, Agbarho, name it.

They live more in Delta Central, yet when it comes to elections, Ibori emboldens them to write miracle results. Interestingly, what goes around, surely comes around. In 2019, Udughan got paid back in his own coins when Senator James Manager used the miracle votes against him to retain the Delta South Senate seat. Of course, Uduaghan's voice of dissent to the result was drowned in his guilt. He couldn't complain much, having been a beneficiary of the fraud results.

What a state we have, Delta. Because of the depraved lording it over the deprived sane majority, Shell ran out of Delta. Because Ibori and his unholy alliance with 'violent mongers,' Deltans have suffered untold setbacks, yet he holds shameless to his desperation to remain relevant by fooling around Tompolo.

Painfully, hopes of retiring the PDP hegemony seem so slim. The major opposition platforms have also been hijacked by PDP dissidents including Ovie Omo-Agege who had to dump PDP, not for any public interest, but just because he failed to secure a primaries ticket. Outside PDP, they are not acting differently in APC. They have, by their greed, scattered Delta APC.
