WITH ALL THE TITLE OF HONOURABLE THIS AND EXCELLENCY THAT, ARE NIGERIAN POLITICIANS REALLY DESERVING OF SUCH TITLES?

I have often wondered what is the essence of bearing the title of HONOURABLE, on account of the public Office or position one occupies in Government, but one's actions and disposition towards the said public office is absolutely DISHONOURABLE?
WITH ALL THE TITLES OF HONOURABLE THIS AND EXCELLENCY THAT, ARE NIGERIAN POLITICIANS REALLY DESERVING OF SUCH TITLES?
I have often wondered what is the essence of bearing the title of HONOURABLE, on account of the public Office or position one occupies in Government, but one's actions and disposition towards the said public office is absolutely DISHONOURABLE? Why bear the Title of EXCELLENCY, when there are no elements of Excellence in the discharge of one's statutory duties as a State Official, and there are also nothing to suggest that one deserves to answer that title EXCELLENCY?
All we have around us in the Government space, particularly in Delta State as a classic example, are nothing but a bunch of IRRESPONSIBLE POLITICIANS at all levels? These are supposed Public Office holders whose trade and stock is to pilfer our public collective wealth at the slightest opportunity they get, enjoy the fringe benefits of being in Government, and at the end of the day, they leave more problems and headaches for the masses they were meant to SERVE in the first place. So, the question is, are the current crop of Nigerian politicians really HONOURABLE and EXCELLENT? Apparently not!
The truth is, if Nigerian Politicians at all levels, were to decide to be Honourable Patriotic citizens in the discharge of their duties as Public Office Holders, and as they bear the title of His/Her/Your Excellency this or that; Nigeria will indeed be a better place. The sad thing is that in this part of the world, the craze for Titles has so blinded many that they only find pride and boost their self-esteem and Public-respect, by bearing such Titles of Honourable and Excellency, without them having the Character, Will and Mind to exhibit the traits of someone that is Honourable and has an excellent spirit.
As powerful, influential and strong as America is, its President, Donald Trump, is only known as Donald Trump. Even their former Presidents like Barack Obama, George Bush, Bill Clinton, etc, are all addressed and referred to by their names without all the Titles of His Excellency or Honourable. The same thing applies to the Prime Minister and former Prime Ministers of Britain. Boris Johnson is addressed as Boris Johnson. Same with David Cameron. Even the Russian President, Vladimir Putin is addressed, and referred to by just his name.
More so, with all the Title-bearing and name calling of HONOURABLE this and EXCELLENCY that, how has that changed the deplorable narrative in Nigeria's problems-ridden society? How are the HONOURABLE and EXCELLENCY Titles developed Nigeria? Nigeria is the only country in the world where these Titles have been so abused, misused and misrepresented, both in the public and private space. This is a country where one must be addressed as Barr. this, Engr. this, or Pharm that. Others like Chief this, and Alhaji that, are also there. Some Nigerians are not comfortable with just being a Chief, but it has to be Double and Triple Chief. Some persons even take offense at others when these Titles are not attached to their names, especially when called out in public places.
In Nigeria, if a title is not attached to one’s name, it means the person has not arrived yet. So, we now have a situation where money is used to purchase some of these titles like Dr. this and Dr. that, Sir this and Sir that, Deacon this and Deacon that. Just recently, it was observed that the Nigerian Police now attach following titles like Inspector, ASP, SP, DCP, CP and even down to DIG and IG. But it should be known that the Nigerian police ranks are not titles. It is only in Nigeria that we see this sort of things. As for the politicians, with their EXCELLENCY and HONOURABLE titles, the only thing that they are known best for is to be excellent and honourable experts in stealing public money meant for development.
The importance given to these titles are just disturbing. As if the said Titles will make them get public respect, or appear active in the eyes of the public. But we all know that has not been the case. Perhaps, it is time to start asking ourselves: What development and positive changes have these Titles brought to our societies and Nigeria as a whole? Of course none! All of these Titles are just nonsense, useless and worthless. And we need to start considering those things that are far more important and beneficial to the growth of our societies, than these so called Titles.

We Mobilize Others To Fight For Individual Causes As If Those Were Our Causes
