TINUBU & CHATHAM HOUSE JAMBOREE, OF WHAT VALUE TO NIGERIA, HIS PRESIDENTIAL BID?
After repeatedly dodging presidential debates in Nigeria, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Timubu, went to Chatham House, UK to answer questions on his electoral bid to an audience that would not cast votes in the 2023 elections. How ridiculous!
What is special about this Chatham House rituals for Nigerian leaders?
What is special about Chatham House questions and answers sessions for politicians contesting elections into Nigeria government?
How many times have British politicians bidding for political offices in the UK come to Nigeria for questions and answers session at the International conference Centre Abuja or the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru?
Of what relevance for Nigeria that politicians, particularly those currently holding public offices, like Nasar El-rufai, Femi Gbajabiamila, Ben Ayade and others wasting public resources to attending a frivolous UK escapade activity that doesn't have any meaningful impact on our economy in accompanying Tinubu to campaign in the UK?
How many times have we heard of American, Chinese, Japanese, South Korean, French politicians flying to the UK Chatham House for questions and answers sessions? More question than answers on the shame of Nigeria's politicians who always patronize UK Chatham House for unnecessary show off.
Going to Chatham House add no benefit to Nigeria's economy? What Nigeria needs is good governance and has nothing to do with Chatham House publicity hype. President Mohammadu Buhari was in Chatham House shortly before the presidential election that elected him President of Nigeria.
So, of what benefit to Nigeria? Imagine after the Chatham House jamboree, Tinubu organised a show off in a lavish dinner party when he was seen dancing with Governors El-Rufai and Ben Ayade among other hangers-on.
Videos also showed how Tinubu organised a crowd of sycophants led by Pastor Reno Omokri, a political propagandist to show solidarity for Tinubu as incoming President. Does Chatham House charade give them votes? What a shame of a nation.
The nuisance value of the Chatham House jamboree is that it exposed why Tinubu had been avoiding presidential debates in Nigeria. In tactically dodging several questions in the name of assigning them to his associates. Shame, shame, shame on Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
