THIS YOUTH UPRISING IN NIGERIA SHOULD BE A LESSON FOR THE NIGERIAN POLITICAL LEADERS

Some friends have asked me, Zik Gbemre why don't you join politics rather than just talk, talk, and talk, and write, and write? And I l tell them that I will not be part of any political party/governance, and that even if I am appointed Chief of Staff to the President or Governor of Delta State, or Secretary to the Federal government of Nigeria or Delta State government, I will not accept. This is because the young people who are qualified, should be given the opportunities to lead the country.

They say Zik Gbemre you are not serious. I tell my friends and those who care to read my notes, that I will never accept any appointment or elected position to be in any government, be it at the community level, local government level, State government level or the Federal government level. All my life, I have not visited any government house. Some of my critics say Zik Gbemre does not see anything good in the government of the day because I tell politicians boldly of their wrongs, no matter who and what is involved.

For instance, why should a politician keep food items meant for Covid-19 palliative, in the warehouses when the people are seriously hungry? Is that not wickedness of high proportion? I will also condemn the attacks and burning of the police stations, police officers, Security operatives, shopping centres, public buildings, etc. This is because it is only making the problem worse because it is the common masses that will still suffer more in all of this.

For the Nigerian politicians, if they are told that a day like this will come, when Nigerians will witness such a youth UPRISING in the country, I am sure the politicians will doubt it. That is why the politicians really need to learn the lesson here and change from their selfish ways and bad governance.

To the Nigerian youths, I say to them that enough is enough. They should stop the protests. And be willing to elect good leaders when election comes around the corner. They should be mindful of the betrayers in their midst. Even the likes of Dino Melaye who is joining the youth, is one of the problems. Ask him where did he get his wealth from? How did he get the money to afford gold plated wristwatches and flashy cars and beautiful mansions? They are ill-gotten monies.

The Nigerian politicians have failed the country. But my advice is that they should stop attacking the police, soldiers, other security operatives, public infrastructure and business premises. The youth unemployment and bad governance are what is causing all of this UPRISING by the youths in Nigeria. The Nigerian people and youths are suffering and living in abject poverty due to the reckless looting since 1999. The Nigerian billionaires with no evidence of their source of wealth, are the real problems. It is sad that today, the most lucrative business is to be in government either by appointment/elected. It's a shame!
