THE KILLING OF INNOCENT PEOPLE AND SECURITY OPERATIVES IS BECOMING A SERIOUS CAUSE FOR ALARM

Practically every other day, we hear and read news reports of the unexplained killings of innocent Nigerians and even Security Operatives across the country. This makes one to begin to wonder.
With such overwhelming increase in insecurity in Nigeria, do we still have a Commander-In-Chief in the country, whose statutory primary responsibility is to protect lives and properties?
Nobody seems to be safe anymore. For instance, on January 10,2021, unknown gunmen reportedly shot dead three mobile policemen in Ughelli, the administrative headquarters of Ughelli North LGA of Delta State. And the incident happened at an eatery along the East-West Road. The three yet-to-be identified policemen died on the spot, and their riffles carted away by the said gunmen.
That is how the insecurity situation is everywhere across the country. In fact, never have the majority of Nigerians been this scared and apprehensive about their safety; in their homes, their farms, their offices, their business areas and on the streets. No where is safe. Nobody knows what will happen in the next minute. It is as if we don't have a Government anymore, especially at the Federal level.
The President Muhammadu Buhari administration seems to be completely out of touch with the 'realities' on ground as regard how terribly worse the insecurity situation in the country has become under his watch. Yet, they keep coming out to try and create the impression that all is well, and that they are in control of the situation. When in reality, the reverse is the case. I am sure many Nigerians have lost hope on this Government being able to guarantee the security of their lives and properties. Many have resigned their faith in their God, to simply save them from the daily decay in the country under this administration. A country where Police Officers are killed every now and then, and innocent people are murdered in cold blood, and the Government of that country seems to be comfortable with it, is greatly alarming? It is just pathetic!
