DECLARING NATIONAL SECURITY EMERGENCY IS PLAYING TO THE GALLERY

Declaration of national security Emergency is pouring old wines into new bottles. Is it not shameful that after Donald Trump declared that American military will invade Nigeria to get rid off boko haram, bandits, killer herdsmen, kidnappers, Tinubu is now pushing to declare state of security Emergency in Nigeria.
Nothing has changed, will not change if Nigeria recruits more soldiers, police, DSS, forest guards, civil defence corps when the nation is not rid of corruption, nepotism, tribalism.
The fight against insecurity is fake. The fight can't be won with Ak47 and match pass parade. Intelligence gathering in Nigeria is porous and information gets back to killer bandits, boko haram, fulani herdsmen. All the ransoms are paid without being tracked.
The killer herdsmen, boko haram, kidnappers no longer hide their identities. They appear boldly on tik tok, Facebook, WhatsApp, telegram and all social media and yet they can't be tracked and you call some Nigerian police as Cybercrime Centre.
Intelligence gathering by the police, DSS and military is zero. New recruited officers will still be only interested in bail money, motorists extortion, detention of innocent people to collect money.
The soldiers are only interested in the South South states like Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers to share in illegal bunkering booming trade. The truth and nothing but the truth is the Nigerian police, DSS and military are overwhelmed and no matter how, the mock training will not improve their performance.
"You won go report case to police and soldiers na you go fuel their vehicles ". Even if you give information they will reveal source of information and this is very common with police officers and top rank officers who have no idea of what they are job is because they are blinded by bribe money.
I have personal experience. Even if the states recruit their police the problem will even escalate. We see uniformed people in the name of state task force harassing innocent motorists along roads everyday.
The will to fight insecurity in Nigeria is not there. Whoever is appointed to head any security outfit is there to get rich. Competent officers will not be posted to man sensitive positions in police, the DSS, military.
They prefer to appoint their tribe's people to head sensitive police posts. Merit is no longer considered. Tinubu should embrace the truth and hire American military to fight insecurity in Nigeria until there is stability in the country.
If Nigeria decides to recruit 20 miliion police, DSS and military the insecurity will still persist. No normal country will recruit supposed repentant hoodlums into its military, police and DSS and you expect insecurity to be over.
As it is now it appears they have more supposed repentant killer herdsmen, boko haram, bandits in the military, police, DSS. Tinubu is clueless on the fight against insecurity with his statement on national security Emergency .
Tinubu should admit his failures and openly welcome American military to fight insecurity in the country. Soldiers's increase in population is not the issue. The infiltration of killer boko haram, Fulani herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers of the Nigerian military is the main issue and not the worthless security Emergency.
Another biting issues is that whenever Southern president is elected the Northern Nigerian elites and people always frustrated such administrations with insecurity. Jonathan's PDP led administration was frustrated by Northern politicians and elites with boko haram killings and bombings and President Tinubu's led APC administration is being frustrated by killer boko haram, bandits, fulani herdsmen, kidnappers just the same way Jonathan was frustrated that led to his losing at the presidential election.
The insecurity in Nigeria is caused by tribalism, nepotism. Some northern politicians and elites believe it is their lawful rights for themselves to rule Nigeria to the exclusion of the South.
We support American gov't under Donald Trump to have a full military base in Nigeria to fight killer boko haram, bandits, kidnappers since Nigerian military, police, DSS are overwhelmed due to so many reasons.
