THE BARBARIC KILLINGS OF NIGERIAN YOUTHS - SIGNS OF A FAILED GOVERNMENT
The unexplainable and unjustifiable killings of the Nigerian youths by the soldiers at Lekki toll gate yesterday (20/10/20), is the height of ineptitude and a clear sign of a failing government across all levels.
What is even odd is the fact that up till now, President Buhari has not thought it necessary to address the youths and the nation, as regards what has happened and the way forward. To sort of give hope and bring the situation under control. One begins to wonder what kind of leadership Nigerians have at the Federal, and even at the State levels of government.
The Federal Government and Lagos State Government should be held responsible for the innocent bloodshed in our land. Those who kill for political power, fame and money, will surely pay for their sins. Those who created poverty in Nigeria by pursuing their selfish agendas, which brought the EndSARS protests and protests against bad governance, will eventually pay for all their sins. We all know that the root cause of all the protests, even though it has been hijacked in some places by hoodlums, politicians and their thugs, is all hinged on the bad governance in the land.
The Nigerian Government has evidently lost focus and direction. The blood of all those that were killed recently, and even before now, will forever hunt them.
I also express my condolence to all the families of those youths that were killed in these protests. Their sacrifice, in trying to speak against the ills in our society, will not be forgotten. We only pray that at the end of the day, the change we all seek will one day become a reality.
