ON NDDC'S PREDICAMENT: PRESIDENT BUHARI SHOULD BE BLAMED

President Muhammadu Buhari was voted as President and Commander-In-Chief of the Nigeria, and not Godswill Akpabio. When something is not right with any Institution of the Federal Government, the buck stops at the table of the President to make it right.

Godswill Akpabio is only but a Minister appointed by President Buhari, and if Akpabio is not performing as expected, regardless of whether he is the son of the soil or not as a Niger Deltans, then it is expected of President Buhari to immediately sack him or have him transferred to other Ministry/Department. President Buhari has failed to deliver his campaign promises in all aspects. He has failed in adhering to the Acts establishing the NDDC. Sadly too, the members of the National Assembly as legislators in both Houses, have failed to checkmate the excesses of Mr. President.

It is the duty of the National legislature to do what is expected, if the President is failing in his statutory duties. President Buhari is expected to work for the interest of the entire country, and the NDDC was set up for the entire NIGER-DELTA. But from what is going right now, it is as if the NDDC was set up for President Buhari and his loyal boys. A board was appointed by Buhari to run the NDDC, and this board was duly approved by the Senate. But surprisingly, the same Buhari appointed an interim board, and the interim board members ended up stealing more from the NDDC purse. The new NDDC board members duly cleared by the Senate didn’t do anything. Yet, they were prevented from being inaugurated by the President and his Minister friend, Akpabio.

Succinctly, the crises rocking the NDDC is DELIBERATELY caused by President Buhari for reasons best known to only him. All of this also reiterates the fact that Buhari is still a dictator.
