NIGERIAN YOUTHS SHOULD SHAME THOSE WHO STOLE FROM THEM IN DELTA STATE - AND STOP THE PROTESTS/BURNING OF PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE/BUSINESS PREMISES

It is sad that Delta State, despite being an oil/gas rich state that generates billions as Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), receives 13% oil derivation fund every month, and its normal monthly allocation from the Federation; the State is still one of the most backward States in terms of infrastructural and economic development in the country.

Delta State is the only State in the country  where an ex-convict, former Governor James Ibori, is still the godfather and was the one who installed all the Governors from 2007 till date. And they have been handling the State as if it is their private property. Ibori's successor as Governor, was his first cousin Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan. His daughter is in the Delta State House of Assembly, as well as many of his close friends, associates, fronts, family members and loyalists, including those indicted for one fraudulent act or the other, and whose track records in the State are nothing to write home about; were all placed in Government by Ibori. They even have a successor in waiting as Governor, who is Ibori's brother-in-law, Chiedu Ibie, and who is the Secretary to the State Government. He was also indicted in the Ibori's money laundering case.

Ibori, amongst other atrocities committed, was said to have bought Wilbros Oil (Ascot Flowlines), and National Fertilizer Company of Nigeria (NAFCON) now Notore Chemicals, and both deals were worth about $350 million, which are run by his fronts. Till today, he owns both companies through his alter egos and fronts. The same ex-convict and godfather Ibori, still remains the determinant of everything in Delta State politics till now. Ibori was said to have acquired a brand new Bombardier Challenger Jet worth $20m. But you won't read anything about that from their 'Twitter warriors' and 'sponsored noise makers.' Yet, they will be talking about Lagos State and be making noise about Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his stronghold in Lagos State. Nigeria is a country of bias, sentiments and hypocrisy.

However, as noted by Wilson Yafugborhi, "The only difference between Tinubu & Ibori is that one is smarter, better manager of men & resources, the other is just a blind and selfish individual who ended up being an ex-convict for stealing the State's collective wealth meant for development. But the common attribute both of them have is that they steal much from their people, and then give a fraction back to the same people.

As such, I believe that the public officers who stole much from the State, and are still dictating to Delta state since 1999 till now, should be shamed and booed by the Nigerian youths wherever they are sighted.

Ibori practically owns and runs Delta state as his private property. James Ibori and his loyalists rule the state at his convenience and from his home.

These are the issues that should anger the Nigerian youths and prompt them to act rightly and peacefully. Should Deltans be shouting and talking about EndSARS protests when they have an ex-convict still controlling the affairs of the state? Are all the underdevelopment, backwardness and bad governance in Delta State caused by the Nigerian police and politicians from the south west and the Northern Nigeria? Is this caused by the South-Easterners? Obviously not! The damage in Delta State is caused by Deltans. The big question is, What was the wealth status of Uduaghan, and others before 1999? Where did they make the billions from? The truth is, these people need to be booed in public. But not violently attacked by anybody.

Where did the Delta State politicians make their money from between 1999 till date? They are PUBLIC ROGUES who don't contribute anything to Delta State progress and development other than steal from the State. The list of all the politicians that stole between 1999 till date in Delta state is known by the public who are not afraid to say the truth. Almost all of the politicians before 1999 were not significantly known. But today they are billionaires. They should be ashamed and dishonoured by the masses in the State without violence because I term them "emergency billionaires" with no clear source of income.

The majority of Delta State politicians didn’t create their current wealth from anywhere before 1999. They deserve no recognition, praises and public respect.

To the Nigerian youths, our problem in Delta state is not caused by the Nigerian Police and the security operatives. Our problems and poverty in Delta State are caused by Delta State politicians between  1999 till date, and still counting. They take everything belonging to Delta State with force. As such, they should stop the burning of public infrastructure, business premises and private property. They should stop the attack on police officers and other Security operatives. The problem is not caused by them. The police and soldiers are not our problem. They and their families are also suffering the consequences of bad leadership in the State, and across the country.

If we observe, according to Barr. Charles Ekpewonye, "During Covid-19 lockdown, our Southern Nigeria Governors carried it on their heads, but most States in Northern Nigeria kept quiet. The same has happened with the EndSARS protests. We have destroyed properties here and the North is looking at us. Are we not missing out on something? The Northerners are politically more developed than the southerners"
