MY OPINION ON WHY NIGERIA SHOULD QUIT ECOWAS AND AFRICAN UNION (AU)

Is it not strange to ask foreigners to invest 100,000 dollars before they can do their private business in Ghana? Is this not madness by the Ghanian Government?
There is no country in the entire western developed countries where foreigners are required to invest even one thousand dollars before they can be allowed to operate their private businesses. I don't think it is about Nigerian attitude in this attack of Nigerians. This similar compulsory expelling of Nigerians by the Ghanian government happened in the late 60s and early 70s when Nigerians were well respected in the entire world. Back then, Nigerian travellers didn't need a visit VISA to enter the United Kingdom and Australia. All they needed was to get a Nigerian passport and then you buy your flight tickets and get a traveller cheque of about 500 naira or less per a traveller as recent as mid 80s. On arrival at London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports, one was expected to be asked how long you would like to stay by the border agency officials. And once you tell them you would stay any period of time, then they will stamp your Nigerian passport with their UK VISA.
All of this stopped when the Buhari-led military administration used some Israelis to kidnapped Alhaji Umaro Dikko through London Gatwick Airport. But they were caught in a cargo crate in the then Nigerian Airways aircraft, and the plane was seized by the UK govt, while the Israeli kidnappers were arrested by the UK police. Buhari the then military head of state of Nigeria didn’t apply diplomatic relationship then but instead, he ordered the seizure of a British Airways aircraft in Murtala Mohammed International airport. And the UK Government immediately severed its diplomatic relationship with Nigeria. It was after the reconciliation, that the UK government then started issuing Visas through their High Commission in Nigeria.
The point here is that Ghana has been aggressive to Nigerians when the Nigerian government and Nigerians were well respected by the UK, US, France, Australia, the then West Germany, the then Soviet Union (USSR), etc. So, let what is happening now be a wake up call for the Nigerian government and Nigerians to start investing heavily in Nigeria. Nigerians may soon be thrown out of Dubai as well. I think Nigeria is being used and dumped everywhere.
Recently, President Buhari opened our borders for all Africans to enter Nigeria without visas. I don’t know what he wants to achieve with that policy. Every country is protecting its country. UK pulled out of the European Union (EU) because there is nothing for them to benefit by remaining in the EU. What is Nigeria gaining in African Union (AU) and ECOWAS? Ghana is buying the Nigerian gas to run their power plants and factories at a reduced cost compared to what they sell to the developed Western countries, and yet they are attacking Nigerians. The Nigerian government and its people really need to grow up.
