LIFETIME URHOBO PATRIOT AWARD TO AMORI: SHAME ON UPU, UPU-AMERICA
Ighoyota Amori's LIFETIME URHOBO PATRIOT AWARD by Urhobo Progress Union- America (UPUNA) is sheer nuisance because it does not relate with the ideals for establishment of the UPU.
UPU was founded on the 3rd of November 1931 by eminent Urhobos, Omorohwovo Okoro, Mukoro Mowoe and Thomas Erukeme as Urhobo Brotherly Society. It transformed to Urhobo Progess Union in 1935, becoming the centrepoint for advancement of Urhobo and her people.
Eminent people like Joseph Arebe Uyo, Samuel Mariere, Jabin Obahor, John Okpodu, Thompson Edogbeji Atkins'T.E.A' Salubi, John Okpodu and others later became active and prominent in UPU at that infant stage and passed on immortalized in the annals of the organization.
UPU as the oldest Social Cultural organization in Nigeria was formed by hard work built on integrity and selflessness among the founding fathers mentioned.
It is disgraceful negation of the ideals of UPU that Ighoyota Amori whose only livelihood is looting of government treasury can be listed in the 'honours roll call' of the UPU.
It is painful that Urhobo elites in US now consider Ighoyota Amori as a selfless Urhobo man. As said by Wilson Yafugborhi, "It's so annoying. Urhobos abroad praising Amori for sponsoring UPU Convention in US, when they should be asking him to account for how much he has deployed 'his born to rule politics' to develop Urhobo's common good. How has his political wealth improved roads, light, water, health in Urhobo land?"
Another comment by Michael Akpobome Egi, noted, 'Yes, it's shameful. Those who want to use diaspora Urhobo organizations to launch their political career have hijacked the leadership of UPUNA.
They would fail woefully like those before them.
"A most profound assessment. I thank Gbemre for his selfless service to our people. No amount of money is enough to pay him back. Honoring our dishonorable politicians, dancing and rubbing shoulders with them is a disgrace.
"This rebuttal by one bootlicker, Fegor Ogene on the disgraceful UPU award to Amori is full of petty sentiments, scanty on facts. Can the writer name one thing that Chief Amori has done for Urhobo common good or tell us what business Amori has been involved in," Egi concluded.
He called Ighoyota Amori a Nigerian Senator. Is Amori a Senator? Amori hijacked the electoral mandate of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. The law caught up with him. The Appeal Court stripped him of the mandate he stole and restored it to the rightful owner.
So in the eyes of the law, Amori was never a Senator, doesn't have the character and moral rectitude to be one. So why a nuisance Amori bootlicker in the garb of a derailed UPU-America (UPUNA) refer to Amori as Senator
in the offensive letter of award?
The congratulatory letter signed by Fegor Ogene referring to Ighoyota Amori as a Senator is unlawful, criminal. Fegor Ogene should know he could be arrested and prosecuted because the nullification of the Senate mandate stolen by Amori was not done in secrecy.
Ighoyota Amori isn't worth an award from UPU-America (UPUNA). Amori is one of the obstacles to development in Urhoboland and Delta. If Fegor Ogene wants to glorify Amori he shouldn't attach UPU. Ogene's family is free to give him the highest award in the world.
How will other tribes rate Urhobo if Amori is given such award by a supposed UPU-America (UPUNA) dominated by Urhobo elites in US? The Urhobos living in the US, are they not enjoying reliable infrastructure and basic social amenities provided by politicians in the government of US ?
If US political officeholders loot the commonwealth of the United States of America into their private vaults and allow the common people to suffer as the likes of Amori have made Urhobos and Delta people suffer, will Fegor Ogene and derailed UPU-America (UPUNA) cohorts have a US to migrate to enjoy the quality living standards they enjoy in the US?
Is not foolishness for people living in US to award Ighoyota Amori as recipient of a supposed prestigious lifetime Urhobo Patriot Award? Ese Gam, PG UPU was also present in this show of shame when Amori was given award by UPU-America (UPUNA). How painful that UPU has lost relevance.
Amori is hopping from one Urhobo convention to another in Europe and North America with his ill-gotten wealth while Deltan people are suffering from misgovernance since 1999.The award by UPU-America (UPUNA) is painful because the Urhobo people living in US are supposed to speak truth to power since they enjoy good governance and democracy in US.
Few days ago Ighoyota Amori was being celebrated by UPU-UK in London. They are in position to warn our politicians by asking them questions for their failures to give account of stewardship to the people they govern and make laws for in Delta rather than being blinded by donations of ill-gotten wealth from Deltan politicians to fund their useless conventions in UK, Americas.
I am proud of Urhobo Historical Society (UHS) in US for promoting and sponsoring Urhobo language & culture teaching that are being studied by Urhobo scholars in Delta State University Abraka. The entire UPU has Collapsed with infusion of politicians who don't care for their own people.
During heat of the Okuama crises UHS was available to provide financial support to homeless Okuama people and they wrote Tinubu on the need to release the Ewu traditional ruler and to pull out soldiers from Okuama community that was burnt and destroyed.
Our so-called UPU and Urhobo traditional rulers were no where to be found. The UPU PG, Ese Gam Owe, and Urhobo traditional rulers all varnished into the tin air while Ewu king was languishing in military cell in Abuja. The UPU under Ese Gam Owe is docile and has no impact on Urhoboland. The current UPU leaders and Urhobo Traditional rulers are Delta government appointees.
As we speak other prominent Ewu leaders including a physic professor at the Delta State University,Prof Arthur Ekpekpo President General of Ewu clan, Rita who was arrested in place of her husband David Akpata, Dennis Okubaye, Belvis Adogbo still languishing in military cell. If they have anything against those who were arrested by military on kiling of soldiers the best thing to do is to hand them over to the police and let them face the wrath of the law.
Till date what led to soldiers to have left their beats in Utorogu Gas Plant in Delta state for the supposed failed peace mission in Okuama is still very unclear as it was not the duty of military to engage in resolving internal boundary disputes between two communities.
Okuama is not oil & gas community and such there is no connection between the soldiers and Okuama people in the first instance.
Ighoyota Amori who is being commended by UPU-America (UPUNA) & UPU-UK is no where to be found in the Ukuama crises.
The UPU-America (UPUNA)'s award to Amori is appaling and shameful. Few days ago in Colombia City in Maryland US there was a burnt meat smoke in the kitchen of a Nigerian that resulted alarm to horn in the house. Within few munites without calling firemen they arrived at the scene. In Nigeria no government sector functions.
So why honouring those Urhobo politicians who cheat on their own people by a supposed Urhobo elites in US? Ighoyota Amori's instant wealth is from looting of Delta's treasury.
This reminds me of Abubakar Rimi the second Republic governor of Kano state's popular statement, "When I left office as a governor I didn't have fifty thousand naira. If you want to make money don't join politics,do business,there is no money in politics. If you see any politician who becomes rich,he is a thief, it is public funds he stole."
Amori's ill-gotten wealth of shuttling from one Urhobo convention to another in Europe and North America is from stolen wealth from Delta's treasury. Shame on those Urhobo elites of UPU-America (UPUNA) and UPU-UK for honouring Amori and politicians who stole from the people.
Ese Gam Owe PG UPU was also in the show of shame in both UPU-America (UPUNA) & UPU-UK so-called conventions. Ese Gam Owe is the most uncoordinated UPU PG in the history of UPU in Urhoboland. What is he excited about in moving with Amori from one convention to another.
What are Ese Gam Owe's achievements in Urhoboland as PG UPU since he was sponsored by Okowa's PDP led administration. When has attending social gatherings become achievements. It is painful UPU that was once respected has been watered down by politicians of this era through Ese Gam as PG.
Amori has directed his watchdog to attack me. A post on WhatsApp platform of NewsNet Nigeria being identified by true caller as Begood Ogene from this line:
+234 803 579 0459. I am not surprised because Fegor Ogene who signed a congratulatory letter to Amori after the award by UPU-America (UPUNA) has same surname with Begood as shown in true caller.
For how long are they going to deceive selves. Who doesn't know Amori in Urhoboland? No serious minded person will take Amori serious. No matter his attack I will say it the way it is.
Are the organisers of those conventions ashamed that they honour a worthless politician. Is that how UK and US are. If the UPU-America (UPUNA) and UPU-UK leaders don't see anything wrong in honouring Amori then it means their conventions are sponsored and bankrolled by Delta politicians.
Is it not shameful that Delta politicians like Ighoyota Amori will steal from Deltan treasury and use to sponsor UPU-America (UPUNA) & UPU-UK Conventions in US and UK.
Why can't Amori and co use their ill-gotten wealth to repair dilapidated school buildings rather than using their ill-gotten wealth to be hopping from one convention in UK and US to another.
