65TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY: TINUBU LIED ON NATIONAL TV

65TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY: TINUBU LIED ON NATIONAL TV

-By Zik Gbemre

It's all filled with packs of lies. According to Tinubu in paragraph 4 of his anniversary broadcast speech," Nigerians today have access to better education and health care than in 1960."

In 1960 Nigerian education system was better than what it was today. Agreed Secondary and Higher institutions were few but quality of education in 1960 was far better than what it was today.

The quality of education in the 50s, 60s and 70s was far better than education in Nigeria of today. The primary and secondary education has more quality than universities of today in Nigeria.

Access to better education of today than 1960 by Tinubu is in his own imagination. What Nigeria has today is quantity education and not quality education. The few Technical Secondary and Trade schools produced quality technicians in the 60s and 70s than today.

It is painful that President Tinubu doesn't understand the difference between  quatity education and quality education. In the 60s,70s and 80s the Universities, Polytechnics, technical schools produced knowledgeable people with working skills.

Tinubu's packs of lies on better health care today in Nigeria is shameful and disgraceful. Agreed the hospitals were few in the 60s but health care in the 60s,70s and 80s were better that it is today. University College hospital Ibadan was one of the best in the world.

The Eku Baptist hospital was one of the best in the world in the 60s,70s and down to 80s. There was medical tourism by the Asians to Nigeria to get better health care. The few general hospitals rendered better medical health care in 60s,70s and 80s.

In the 60s and 70s  Nigerians were not going to Asian countries for medical checks. In 60s,70s and 80s Asians teachers were begging to teach in Nigerian secondary schools in rural areas. In 60s and 70s Nigeria didn't recognise degrees and diplomas from many countries in Europe, America and Asian countries.

Even medical doctors trained in Asian countries and many European countries were not allowed to practice medicine in government owned hospital in Nigeria. Only medical doctors trained in United Kingdom(UK) and United States of America (US) were allowed to practice in government hospitals in Nigeria.

Tinubu should answer himself, how many times has he and family attended hospitals in Nigeria since he became president of Nigeria? Is it any speech given to him by his aides that Tinubu will broadcast to the public?

Nigeria's education system has failed. Nigeria's health care has failed.  If Tinubu has nothing to say on his national broadcast he should keep silent.
