TOMPOLO BUYING US DRONES TO FIGHT OIL THEFT: FG SHOULD SCRAP NIGERIAN NAVY NOW, REPLACE WITH TANTITA
-Zik Gbemre
Many issues come to mind about the sensationalism flying around that Tompolo has placed order for purchase of hyped drones from a US manufacturer to enhance Tantita's fight against oil theft and assets vandalism in Nigeria.
The first laughable point Tompolo and his Tantita's desperation to engaged in extreme self glorification by making a big media show of a course that shouldn't be made public for security reasons.
The profuse media campaign on what should be a guarded tactful operational upgrade is in furtherance of covering up the open secret that Tantita is not making any difference in oil assets security surveillance in the operating space, but rather engaged by the establishment to lead a conspiracy to censor oil theft and not to eradicate it.
In the fight against oil theft that has defied all strategies, including the deceit called Tantita, why should Tompolo be screaming in the media to expose acquisition of security enhancement assets as drones?
So just to prove the falsehood that Tantita is making the difference and justifying the bloated appeasement surveillance contract sums, you have to compromise your security strategies by letting the whole world and the oil theft syndicates know all your plans.
Drones were at the heart of the weapons of warfare Donald Trump's US Army deployed to creep into Nigeria, struck terrorists bases in Sokoto and left in their wake destruction and deaths without the federal government not knowing it having any say on it.
Did Trump and his army have to first occupy Nigeria's TV studios to tell the world the sophistry of its armoury, including the drones deployed, the manufacturer and how many and when they were purchased before embarking on the Sokoto mission?
The second issue is the deliberate exaggeration of the drone models being ordered, inducing the suspiccion if the whole claim of purchase is not a subterfuge. The idea is to make it seems the absence of drones is the most critical challenge in the fight against oil theft. Fat propaganda.
In the first place if Tantita, Pipeline Infrastructures Nigeria Ltd, Abili Integrated Services Ltd, Ocean Marine Solutions Ltd and all the conduits being used to share oil money in the name of assets surveillance were not already deploying drones, then they are all glorified analogue vigilante groups earning money for nothing.
Above all considerations is, we deduce from the hyped news on Tantita purchasing drones to secure oil assets that Nigeria no longer has Navy.
Federal government should scrap the Nigerian Navy and replace with Tompolo and his Tantita. What is Tompolo doing in the creeks and ocean that the Nigerian Navy can't do? Tompolo and Tantita must have replaced the Nigerian Navy?
The Tompolo and Tantita drama was intentional, to make the Nigerian Navy redundant. Technically federal government has replaced the nation's Navy with Tompolo and Tantita? Tompolo and Tantita have become the lead marine security agency of the nation?
One would have expected the government to equip the Nigerian Navy with advanced drones to fight oil theft and sundry crimes in the creeks and in the sea.
Federal government should tell Nigerians the role of the Nigerian Navy in monitoring all marine activities within Nigerian borders today, with the emergence of Tantita.
With all the huge funds shared through its platform, Tantita is anonymous in most oil fields scoped for its operations. It merely pays ghost surveillance who are never on ground but wants to claim glory in conspiracy with the assets operators and NNPCL for operational successes made by local surveillance contractors and their surveillance guards engaged by Nigerian oil companies and multinationals.
Such is the recent experience witnessed in OML 34, involving the Utorogu Gas Plant and other key assets. A host community tyrant, the President General of Otor-Edo, Ughelli South Local Government Area abducted a surveillance guard and collected N120,000 ransom before releasing.
Tompoli was never in the picture while the surveillance Supervisor to the local contractor,Amos Okpobe made efforts, including paying the depraved community PG and reporting the incident leading to arrest of the culprit,
As soon as the abductor of Otor-Edo President General got arrested, the OML 34 General Manager (AMT) Gov't, Community Relations & Security, Mr Sheidu Aiguedo supported the local surveillance guards who reported the matter to police from the process of investigating and prosecuting him.
Before we know it, Tantita and Tompolo have drafted themselves and the Army in, and Tantita who knew nothing about the issue. They want to claim glory for other people's efforts and tomorrow they will come on the media to say they have made a mark in OML 34 where they have no presence anywhere.
So to Federal Government, since you have lost confidence in the Nigeria Navy and trust Tantita to be the one to safeguard the nation's assets, no need to continue funding a failed Navy. Just scrap it and save us the embarrassment.
