--Dear Chief Faith Gbagi & Barr Eric Gbagi,
YOU OWE IT A DUTY TO UNITE KENNETH GBAGI'S FAMILY
I write you this as elder brothers of Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi with duty to bring sustainable peace to Kenneth Gbagi's home after his passing.
I am from Iwhrekan Town of Ughievwen Kingdom/Clan. The Gbagi family are from Oginibo Town of same Ughievwen. I am vast in Ughievwen and Urhobo culture, traditions and customs.
In Urhoboland, every child is a legitimate child whether by a wife, a lover, concubine or girlfriend. 'Omo-ose' is as legitimate child as the child from a legitimate wife. 'Omo-ose' has same rights with a child by a wife.
I am also hearing both of you allegedly aided the ex-wife of Kenneth Gbagi, Evelyn to return to Kenneth Gbagi's home in Oginibo after she left the marriage for many years. I hear Evelyn even married a whiteman when she left Kenneth Gbagi.
It is abomination and taboo to bring back the ex-wife of Kenneth Gbagi to his home. A woman who left his husband for many years may have slept with other men, so why bring such a woman back to Kenneth Gbagi's home after his passing? It is a taboo and against Ughievwen and Urhobo traditions and customs.
Evelyn's children could get her an apartment to stay outside Gbagi's home or if they have their house that is not built by Kenneth Gbagi she can be taken there by her children to live with them. Kenneth Gbagi is no more so what is she doing in Kenneth Gbagi's home?
I was close to Gbagi before he died and the only woman Kenneth Gbagi introduced to me as wife is Justice Mrs Sybil Gbagi. Gbagi told me he was no longer married to Evelyn. Evelyn left Kenneth when Kenneth was alive and she can't return to Kenneth Gbagi's home again. Kenneth Gbagi is no longer alive for them to reconcile.
We are Urhobos and it is the only surviving wife, Justice Sybil Gbagi that should continue to live in the home of Kenneth Gbagi throughout her life time and even bury there if the traditions and customs of her surviving wife allows it. The family can't force Kenneth Gbagi's only wife Justice Sybil Gbagi out of Gbagi's home.
George Gbagi and Michael Gbagi are elder brothers of Emuoboh Gbagi and no dispute about it. George Gbagi is the eldest son of Kenneth Gbagi. Micheal Gbagi is the second eldest son of Kenneth Gbagi. Emuoboh is the third eldest son of Kenneth Gbagi.
I am aware Kenneth Gbagi had five 'gates' meaning five women had child/children for Kenneth Gbagi. I know Kenneth had another daughter called Aghogho Gbagi that is based in US. You can't change Ughievwen and Urhobo traditions and customs for fear of any person.
Every 'gate' has equal rights to their father's properties. Properties of late Urhobo man are usually shared among the 'gates' equally. Faith and Eric, as elders of Gbagi extended family you should follow the path of truth and nothing but the truth no matter who and what is involved.
The only surviving wife of Kenneth Gbagi, Justice Sybil Gbagi should be respected and accorded her full rights as the only surviving wife of Kenneth Gbagi with all due benefits. Faith and Eric if elders shy away from the truth then what do you expect of youths?
You must call Emuoboh Gbagi to order and tell him the blunt truth. You must let Emuoboh Gbagi to know that he is the third eldest son of Gbagi and not the eldest son and not the second eldest son so it is against Ughievwen and Urhobo traditions and customs to parade self as the eldest son of Kenneth Gbagi.
George Gbagi is the Head of Kenneth Gbagi's family according to Ughievwen and Urhobo traditions and customs and has highest rights when sharing the properties of Kenneth Gbagi.
There is a parable in Urhoboland that you can't drag seniority in a family and home Town. Faith and Eric should courageously tell Emuoboh the bitter truth.
