WHY THE GLORIFICATION OF KEYAMO FOR CALLING FOR PROPER NAMING OF OSUBI AIRPORT?
The media hype on Minister Festus Keyamo's remarks on Osubi Airstrip to be officially recognised as Osubi is not an achievement. Shell that built the Osubi Airstrip from land acquisition, construction to completion and commissioning in 1999 has named it Osubi Airstrip right from inception and not Warri Airstrip.
Osubi Town is under Okpe LGA,home town of Gov Sheriff Oborevwori and not Warri South LGA. Even old Warri Airport is located in Ephron (Effurun) in Uvwie LGA.
What I will consider achievement of Festus Keyamo is when he is able to tell President Bola Tinubu to upgrade Osubi Airstrip to international Airport since the land for upgrade and expansion of Runway is there intact.
I call on Keyamo to use his office to develop, upgrade and expand Osubi Airstrip Runway to international standard. When this upgrade of Osubi Airstrip is fully completed we will have justification to thank minister Festus Keyamo.
Osubi Airstrip can never be called Warri Airstrip. Till now we are still waiting for N2b upgrade of Osubi's Runway announced by Keyamo as soon as he was named Aviation Minister.
