HARDSHIP IN NIGERIA: IT'S BEYOND BOGUS LAWMAKERS SALARIES

Agreed Nigerian leaders are inconsiderate compared to counterparts in the advanced countries where elected/appointed leaders abide by the constitutions of those countries and lead by examples. In Nigeria and entire black Africa, elected/appointed leaders are inhuman to fellow beings.

I am not in support of bogus salaries for public officeholders. The truth is if minimum wages/salaries is N20m per a worker and salaries of public officers are reduced it won't solve any bit of problem.

There is need to overhaul every sector and make government functional. There is no functional system in Nigeria. No sector functions at it is supposed to be. The entire system has collapsed and remain so until we have radical leaders with zero tolerance for corruption, nepotism, tribalism. Nigerian will continue to decline, poverty and unemployment will stay unrestrained.

We have leaders who pretend but all of them have harmful motives. None of them up there from local government levels to states and then to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has genuine intention to govern the people.

Tinubu is inhuman and all of them who gathered in Abuja as one thing or other are harmful to the economy and people of this country, except to their hangers-on and useless/corrupt desk clerk politicians and their fronts.

Tinubu and state governors with lawmakers in the entire country lack the capacity to manage the economy and govern the people as it ought to be as seen in US, UK, Canada. Why are we deceiving ourselves that hike in minimum wages/salaries will improve the economy and end hunger?

Why are Nigerian elites deceiving selves that cutting down salaries/allowances of public officers will guarantee good governance? Nigeria lacks good governance and there will never be good governance with these useless politicians in power in all the major parties of Nigeria.

They are crooks and few good politicians will join them to get a little from the system. I am advocate of good governance.

China doesn't practice democracy but her leaders are committed and radically thoughtful. Russia doesn't practice democracy but Vladimir Putin is committed and he is a radical and thoughtful leader of his Russian people.

Democracy is not the answer to good governance in Africa. Let Nigerian elites stop to mock selves. What we need is good governance but these crops of politicians lack the capacity to deliver good governance in Nigeria.

Let me digress to Delta as example of what is going on in Nigeria.

As said by Goodluck Adafe, "The proper question is, how long will Delta people remain slaves to incompetent and morally deficient politicians?

"For we cannot call our unenlightened political class leaders to order. As it is, Delta has become one of the most politically and socially primitive states in Nigeria. No democratic forces anywhere in Delta, not even opposition to hold government accountable.

For example, since you have been writing, how many elders, youths or women have come out to support your position on issues.  So, Gov Oborevwori can have a field day in office."

Nigeria needs radical leaders with zero tolerance for corruption and not these public rogues who call selves president, governors, lawmakers and appointees.

Unrestrained Looting is what is killing the economy of Nigeria. If looting is stopped by radical leaders with zero tolerance for corruption Nigeria will breath fresh air.

Governance has replaced intensive farming, governance has replaced manufacturing, governance is the economic live wire of Nigerian politicians and elites. To be in government in Nigeria is do or die, the ultimate.

If you don't pay politicians in power salaries/allowances, as far as they can loot as they want it won't affect them. So if they are not paid salaries and allowances they won't care as far as there is unlimited looting.

Who will prosecute the Federal lawmakers? All lawmakers/elected public holders, appointed office holders/security operatives, judicial officers and anti-graft officials inclusive of states are worthless people. The 99.9% of politicians serving as one thing or other and top civil service workers are compromised.

Nigeria problem is hard to cure with these set of people unless we have radical leaders that have integrity with zero tolerance for corruption, nepotism, tribalism. I don’t believe these crops of leaders can put the country in the right track.

They are just there for themselves, families, friends hangers-on, communities, clans and tribes.
