GLORIFICATION OF THIEF IBORI: MULADE HAS LOST IT
August 4, 2021 | News
I shudder and fear more for the future of extraordinarily endowed but grossly underdeveloped Delta state whenever I read or hear gullible praise singers worship a former Governor of the state Chief James Ibori, even after being convicted beyond reasonable doubt, for stealing the state blind.

GLORIFICATION OF THIEF IBORI: MULADE HAS LOST IT
We can understand the sentiments when political officeholders Ibori turned from paupers to millionaires/billionaires sing his praises.
But a professed advocate of peace & justice as Sheriff Mulade worshiping an ex-convict as role model has lost his mind.
No matter the image laundering, Ibori cannot repair his self tarnished public image.
I shudder and fear more for the future of extraordinarily endowed but grossly underdeveloped Delta state whenever I read or hear gullible praise singers worship a former Governor of the state Chief James Ibori, even after being convicted beyond reasonable doubt, for stealing the state blind.
The latest praise singing of James Ibori, coming from Chief Sheriff Mulade, more inciting than past instances, goes to prove that Sheriff has all along been a phoney, parading self as a civil society activist under the banner of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ.
In guise of felicitating with Ibori at 63, Mulade glorified Chief Ibori as the "powerhouse of Delta politics and godfather to many Delta State politicians across all political parties".
The question Mulade should answer is how has Ibori's godfatherism benefited the common good in Delta? Why would a supposed advocate of peace and justice be glorifying an ex-convict as his mentor, hero and role model?
Like others in the clan of Ibori praise singers, is Mulade normal? Is he mentally balanced to be praise singing to publicly celebrate a looter of public treasury who established the hegemony of hijacking Delta commonwealth to transform cronies into instant billionaires while leaving the majority in penury and deprivations?
Mulade cannot eat his cake and have it. Mixing Nigeria's dirty politics with activism is a sensitive disposition that has rubbished the reputation of several persons who have attempted it. Mulade has smeared his reputation as a supposed activist, throwing away any measure of integrity he has built over the few years just to join the bandwagon.
The bandwagon in this context is the propensity for political office seekers to feel they can't win elections on merit and integrity. They believe is to take the shortest route which is to lean on a perceived "crocked godfather" without whose support you can never win.
If Mulade has no self confidence on running for the next state or national political position, he should shut up, and run for his ward councillorship and stop shaming Delta as a state, like how much Ibori has brought shame to the state.
No matter the image laundering directed at him, Ibori can never restore his battered, soiled name as the thief who stole Delta blind. He remains an enemy of Delta state.
The Dubai he took some of his stolen money to, leading to his arrest, trial and jail, was not developed with wishful thinking and thieving leadership. It took Leaders' commitment to the common good to make Dubai the global destination of choice for business and pleasure.
If Ibori put half as much of what he looted into genuine investments for the advancement of Delta state, we would have been on a strong footing in realizing the dream of making Delta an alternative Dubai.
Just shut up, Mulade. Shut the hell up.
