CANADIAN VISAS DENIAL: NIGERIAN MILITARY PAYING FOR ONSLAUGHT AGAINST OKUAMA
I am not surprised that the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Christopher Gwabin Musa, and other top military officers were denied visa to Canada for official engagement.
In Canada, US, UK, France do their military invade communities to kill civilians and burn down their communities? The Okuama crises that led to the killing of soldiers and vengeful killing of Okuama and burning down of the community is gross abuse of military power against civilians.
The military authorities said in their press release that soldiers were killed by militants for disrupting their illegal oil bunkering. The army affirmed they know the militant group and their leader who had not birth link to Okuama.
They boasted they would apprehend the prime suspect in no time. Till date, beyond rushing to burn down his Bayelsa home, the army has not been able to catch the real culprit. But with impunity, they razed Okuama with several residents unaccounted for and still holding the community leaders against laws of the land.
All of these happening because soldiers were induced to invade a community against the universal rules of engagement in the guise of peacekeeping. Soldiers guarding assets at Utorogu Gas Plant left their duty post for a questionable peace mission in a peaceful community of Okuama, Ughelli South LGA of Delta state that has no connection with their core duty.
Few weeks ago, soldiers invaded Okpare Community of same Ughelli South LGA, again with no justification. Soldiers are not police officers and have no role in peace keeping in a peaceful community unless the police are overwhelmed and they call for assistance in a terrorist situation.
Okuama kiling, burning down of Okuama and illegal detention of Ewu leaders including Prof Arthur Ekpokpo of which one of Ewu leaders died in military detention are more than enough justification for Canada Immigrations to deny Nigerian soldiers visa.
Why detaining innocent Ewu leaders? I am calling on all world leaders to deny Nigerian military leaders visa until they set free Ewu leaders. There should be consequences for illegal and wrongful action of military against civilians.
According to Michael Akpobome Egi, an executive management committee member of Urhobo Historical Society (UHS) based in the US, in his response to the denial of some Nigerian Military officers by the Canadian Embassy, "Good news to all lovers of freedom and victims of genocidal military.
"The blood of Okuama people would continue to hunt the Nigerian military, more sanctions are coming their way from sympathetic countries who abhors the use of the military to silence armless citizens.
Our campaign against the murderous Nigerian army is beginning to produce fruitful results. We would not stop until the army will stop tormenting Okuama people. They are waiting for General Musa, he might end up facing prosecution in the Hague for crimes against Okuama people. The world is watching."
I am calling on Tinubu and his military to urgently release all detained Ewu leaders. I am alslo calling on Tinubu to rebuild Okuama community that was destroyed by the Nigerian soldiers on a questionable peace mission.
Nigerian is not under military administration.
