ATTENTION THE PRESIDENCY: WHY NEGLECT THE URHOBO NATION ON THE HONOUR THAT OUGHT TO BE GIVEN GEN. JOHN ORHO OBADA

Since the sad recent exit of Maj. Gen. John Orho Obada, what is expected of the Presidency is to reach out to his family by sending a delegate to pay a condolence visit to his family in Agbarho town in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.
The report that the Federal Government said they issued a statement, does not carry any weight, neither does it justify the required honour and respect that ought to be given to such a Nigerian hero who sacrificially served his country meritorious.
The question is: is that how the Federal Government did for others of Maj. Gen. Obada's status in Nigeria? Or is it because Maj. Gen. Obada is from the Urhobo minority tribe or what? Is this right?
The Federal Government of Nigeria ought to have sent a delegate to commiserate with Maj. Gen John Orho Obada's family because he served the country in many areas. From Acting Chief of Airforce Staff, Minister of Works, to many other roles in the Nigerian Military, and also in the Corporate sectors. A former Shell Asset/Production Manager Land-West, said this of Maj. Gen. John Orho Obada in a response to my condelence message to the family: "Zik It’s really sad to hear of Gen. Obada’s death. "You’re right, he is one of the few honest people I worked as the Shell Land Area Asset Manager. He broke ranks and entered Evwreni even with youths threatening. He was the key to Shell being able to finish the Osubi Airport and many other interventions to help us operate. It was when he became too old to run around that youths succeeded in getting Oil Companies to leave Warri. My condolences go to the family, and I pray that God will indeed comfort them in this season."
Other countries are known to always recognize and pay due respect to their fallen heroes and deaths of any of their military personnel with the kind of status and impact made, just like was done by Maj. Gen. Obada in Nigeria. As such, the Federal Government should be seen to do the needful, regardless of that person's tribe.
We therefore ask that Maj. Gen. John Orho Obada should be properly recognized by the Presidency as a departed hero, and accorded the privileges befitting of his status, as one of our notable Urhobo leaders and a prominent Nigerian.
